Viktor Aleshkov – lirico spinto tenor

Viktor Aleshkov studied voice at the Novosibirsk Conservatory, where he sang numerous leading roles with the Conservatory Opera Studio, including Mozart in Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Mozart and Salieri”, Turridu in “Cavalleria Rusticana” and Hermann in “Pique Dame”, among others. Upon completion of his studies, he was engaged for 3 years as a soloist with the Operetta Theatre Novosibirsk, where his repertoire included roles such as Camille de Rossillon in “Die lustige Witwe” and Alfred in “Die Fledermaus”. This was followe by a guest engagement at the Academy Theater of Opera and Ballet Novosibirsk as Lenski in “Eugene Onegin”. He then became an ensemble member of the St. Petersburg Opera, where he continues to sing today, having interpreted numerous roles of the Russian repertory, such as Prince Schuiskij and Grigorij Otrepjev (both in “Boris Godunov”), Icharev (“Igroki”), Hermann and Lenski, as well as many others. His roles in the Italian repertory include Guglielmo in Donizetti”s “Viva la Mamma”, Duca di Mantova in “Rigoletto”, Alfredo in “La Traviata” and Pinkerton in “Madama Butterfly”. Guest engagements have brought Viktor Aleshkov to the Rimskij-Korsakov Theater St. Petersburg and the Alexandertheater Helsinki as Rodolfo in “La Bohème”, to the Finnish National Opera as Grigorij Otrepjev, to the Vaasa Opera in Finland as Cassio in Verdi’s “Otello” and to the Music Theater Zazerkalie in St. Petersburg as Rodolfo and Hoffmann. In addition, Viktor Aleshkov is a regular guest artist with the Lithuanian National Opera, where he has sung the roles of Duca, Erik (“Der fliegende Holländer”), Calaf and Pinkerton, and many more. For his interpretation of Eléazar in Halévy’s “La Juive” under the direction of Günter Krämer, he won the “Best Singer in the Lithuanian Republic” award in 2004. He also returns regularly for guest performances at the Academy Theater of Opera and Ballet Novosibirsk, where he sings roles such as Lenski, Alfredo, Pinkerton, Boris (“Katja Kabanova”) and Count Vaudemont in Tchaikovsky’s “Jolanta”. Recently he sang the title role in “Les contes d’Hoffmann” at the historic Hermitage Theater St. Petersburg, Canio in “I Pagliacci” and the Male Chorus in Britten’s “The Rape of Lucretia” at the St. Petersburg Opera, and he made his acclaimed debut in Vienna singing the roles of Agrippa and Mephisto in Prokofjew’s “Fiery Angel” in the Odeon Theater under stage director Philipp Harnoncourt.
