Almost 12 years after his extraordinary El Niño, John Adams returns to Christian mythology. Much as El Niño was his take on the Nativity history, The Gospel According to the Other Mary is his vision of a Passion. The oratorio is built on a libretto by Peter Sellars, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic is conducted by Gustavo Dudamel.

I Pagliacci - Sankt-Petersburg Opera
Russian tenor Viktor Aleshkov, who in 2010 won the most prestigious theatre prize of St. Petersburg, could claim it again in 2011. Like last year, he was awarded the “Golden Sofit” for his portrayal of Canio in I Pagliacci at the Sankt-Petersburg Opera.
