Matjaz Stopinsek, who scored a big success as Edwin in “Die Csárdásfürstin” in 2010, will return to the Lehár Festival Bad Ischl in 2012. This time he will sing the role of Jonel in Franz Lehár’s rarity “Zigeunerliebe”.

The Swiss bass, Michael Leibundgut, has established himself as a specialist in contemporary music. In May 2012 he makes his debut at the renowned festival Maggio Musicale in Silvia Colasanti’s La Metamorfosi. The opera was commissioned by the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.

Almost 12 years after his extraordinary El Niño, John Adams returns to Christian mythology. Much as El Niño was his take on the Nativity history, The Gospel According to the Other Mary is his vision of a Passion. The oratorio is built on a libretto by Peter Sellars, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic is conducted by Gustavo Dudamel.
