Praised by The Washington Post as “a standout, a singer of unusual might,” she has created numerous roles in nine world premieres over the past five years alone, making her a sought-after collaborator for composers, opera companies, and festivals across North America.

Upcoming engagements include her return to the Metropolitan Opera as cover for Mrs. Hodge in Missy Mazzoli’s highly anticipated world premiere, Lincoln in the Bardo and appearances in I Hear America Singing, Julie and Nathan Gunn’s large-scale concert project commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

The 2025–26 season saw Adrienne Danrich make her stage debut at the Metropolitan Opera as Lily in Porgy and Bess while covering Serena. She also created the role of Dinah in the world premiere of Lalovavi with Cincinnati Opera and reprised Fire Shut Up In My Bones: Opera Suite in Concert in New Orleans and Kansas City.

In the 2024–25 season, she made her Prototype Festival debut as Mel in John Glover’s Eat the Document and returned to Opera Theatre of Saint Louis to create the role of Ida in Ricky Ian Gordon’s This House. She also participated in workshops of Jasmine Barnes’s She Who Dared and Kevin Day’s Lalovavi, while touring nationally with Terence Blanchard in Fire Shut Up In My Bones: Opera Suite in Concert.

Commissioned by Cincinnati Opera, this live-documentary musical tribute highlights the groundbreaking careers of the two legendary opera singers who broke racial barriers in the classical music world. Adrienne Danrich is also active as a creator and collaborator in interdisciplinary and socially engaged works. She co-created the art song Breathe with composer Drew Hemenger, a powerful musical response to the ongoing tragedy of Black lives lost through violence and ignorance.
