Lyric Soprano
Swedish soprano CECILIA HJORTSBERG studied at the Opera Studio of the Gothenburg Opera as well as the Royal Music Academy of Stockholm, and privately with acclaimed baritone Håkan Hagegård.
While still completing her training, Cecilia Hjortsberg was already active as a soloist on operatic stages, and performed roles such as Belinda in Dido and Aeneas, Gilda in Rigoletto and Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte~. Further engagements with regional Swedish opera companies such as Opera of Skåne, where she sang the Mozart roles Fiordiligi and Donna Anna, the Malmö Lyrical Ensemble, where she portrayed the female heroine Isis in Johann Gottlieb Naumann’s rarity Osiris, and Opera i Provinsen, where she interpreted Giorgetta in Puccini’s Il Tabarro and Desdemona in Verdi’s Otello. After moving to Denmark, she became an ensemble member of the Royal Danish Opera Copenhagen, and sang roles such as the Wood Sprite in Rusalka, Voce dal Cielo in Don Carlos, and most recently, Ortlinde in Die Walküre.
Further guest engagements include Desdemona in the revival of Opera i Provinsen’s Otello and with the renowned Aarhus Opera Festival, her debut as Violetta with Operakompagniet in Copenhagen and Micaëla with the summer festival Opernfestspiele St. Margarethen (Austria) and for tour performances with the Royal Danish Opera throughout Denmark.
Numerous concerts, especially with her ensemble The Nordic Singers, complement the artistic endeavors of the young soprano. In 2015 she made her debut at Vienna’s Palais Augarten under the auspices of LA PRIMA VOLTA with songs by Jean Sibelius to commemorate his 150th birthday.

Die schwedische Sopranistin CECILIA HJORTSBERG erhielt ihre Ausbildung am Opera Studio der Göteborg Opera sowie an der Royal Music Academy of Stockholm. Daneben wurde ihre Stimme von Håkan Hagegård ausgebildet.
Bereits während ihres Studiums konnte Cecilia Hjortsberg in zahlreichen Partien des lyrischen Faches auf der Bühne stehen. Sie sang unter anderem Belinda in Dido and Aeneas, Gilda in Rigoletto und Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte. Weitere Auftritte an regionalen schwedischen Opernhäusern folgten, wie zum Beispiel an der Opera of Skåne, wo sie erneut als Fiordiligi und danach als Donna Anna in Don Giovanni zu hören war, dem Malmö Lyrical Ensemble, mit dem sie die weiblichen Hauptrolle Isis in Johann Gottlieb Naumanns Opernrarität Osiris sang und der Opera i Provinsen, wo sie Giorgetta in Puccinis Il Tabarro und Desdemona in Verdis Otello interpretierte. Nach ihrem Umzug nach Dänemark erhielt sie ein Engagement an der Royal Danish Opera Copenhagen, wo sie seitdem regelmäßig zu hören ist – unter anderem als Elfe in Rusalka, Voce dal Cielo in Don Carlos und zuletzt als Ortlinde in Die Walküre.
Weiters gastierte sie mit Opera i Provinsen als Desdemona, und wiederholte diese Rolle auch im Rahmen des renommierten Aarhus Opernfestivals. Mit Operakompagniet in Kopenhagen gab sie ihr erfolgreiches Debüt als Violetta, und sie sang Micaëla bei den Opernfestspielen St. Margarethen (Österreich), eine Rolle, die sie zuletzt auch auf Tournee der Royal Danish Opera durch Dänemark gesungen hat.
Zahlreiche Konzerte, vor allem mit ihrem Ensemble The Nordic Singers, ergänzen das künstlerische Schaffen der Sopranistin. 2015 debütierte sie im Wiener Palais Augarten im Rahmen des Musikvereins LA PRIMA VOLTA mit Liedern von Jean Sibelius, anlässlich seines 150. Geburtstages.
